Arsenal is planning a £70 million spending spree this week,
according to the Daily Mail.
It is understood that Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus and
highly-rated Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez are top of their shopping list.
The Gunners have already seen a £35m bid for Jesus turned
down but are hopeful they can strike a deal close to the Premier League
champions’ £50m asking price.
Martinez is attracted to Mikel Arteta’s project, with the
Dutch club demanding around £30m for the left-footed Argentinian defender.
The 24-year-old would compete with Ben White and Gabriel
Magalhaes in the centre of defence.
Arsenal is also close to signing Porto midfielder Fabio
Vieira. He will be their third summer arrival, after American goalkeeper Matt
Turner and Brazil striker Marquinhos.
