The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency
(NDLEA), Brig-General Mohamed Buba Marwa has said the case against embattled
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari, will not linger too long in
the courts.
Marwa stated this while appearing as a guest on Channels
Television’s Hard Copy.
According to him, the conviction of two other defendants in
the case shows that the matter will be treated with the urgency it deserves.
“They have been convicted and jailed those two, I think that
is a pointer that this is a case that will not last long,” Marwa said.
He added that the NDLEA has the cooperation on the matter,
adding that the agencies have full confidence in the judiciary.
Two weeks ago, a Federal High Court in Abuja convicted and
sentenced two co-defendants in a suit filed by the NDLEA against Kyari over an
alleged drug deal to two years imprisonment.
