Biafra: Britain's Recognition Of The Palestinian Country Is A Show Of Double Standards, Must Be Put To Check

Keir Starmer, UK Prime Minister

"British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced the United Kingdom’s decision to formally recognise a Palestinian state more than 100 years after the Balfour Declaration backed “the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people”, and 77 years after the creation of Israel in the British Mandate of Palestine", states the news outlet.

Immediately I gazed through this news, I knew that the British government had shot itself on the foot. Not because I'm against Palestinians having their own country, but because the British government has proven to be biased and can be known to be double standard.

Just like Palestinians, Biafrans are victims of war crime, prejudice, oppression and extra-judicial killings starting with the atrocities melted on them by the British government during its colony days, down to the Nigerian genocidal war and the current systematic killings of innocent Biafrans for seeking a sovereign state of Biafra.

Even in the midst of all these atrocities, the Biafran people have maintained a peaceful and civil agitation through the usage of protests, civil disobedience, education etc just to make it known that we are fed up with the Nigerian state and wants to be left alone, but these approaches had fallen on dead ears. The British government, doing what they know how best to do, have pretended not to have seen or known the plight of Biafrans.

The Paleon the other hand has not been peaceful as Biafrans, they have also threatened the peace of Isreal and have in one way or the other retaliated against the Israeli state, an adventure that can be seen as self defense, but the British government have speedily announced its support for them together with Canada a d Australia.

May I remind you that Nigeria is one among the 38 countries in the world, 16 in Africa colonized by the British, unlike Isreal. It is also worthy of note that Nigeria is the worst coup try amongst other countries colonized by Britain and the only country where separation is ringing a loud bell.

The British government, playing blind and deaf towards Biafra but doing the eye service job in the case of Palestine is the highest form of double standards. This proves that the British government is biased and unrepentant of their cunny moves.

Before 1914, there was no Nigeria and there was no mayhem against any ethnicity. Not until Britain came and joined different people together and named them Nigerians. Lugard in his words, stated that there should be separation if after 100 years the union fails to work.

Over 100 years later, a particular people is made the target for subjugation, killing, injustice of all kinds etc. We have wailed, shouted, begged, murmured and yet they keep pretending not to know our plights.

All of a sudden, self determination became paramount for Palestinians whom they have no business with. Yes, a country must not be involved in colonizing another before standing up for them, that is why I am calling on other cou tries in the world to come to the rescue of Biafrans. You all must stand for justice just as Britain is standing for Palestinians. Hear the cries of our children, mothers and fathers. What is good for the goose is also goos for the ganda.

The same peace for humans deserved by the Palestinians is what Biafrans deserves. Palestinians are humans, and of course Biafrans are not robots. We're humans too. This is why the British government must also look towards that shot-hole they duged in Africa (Nigeria) and think about how to dissolve it peacefully before we exhaust our peaceful approach and resort to an approach that will also affect them.
