Popular Catholic Priest, Fr. Oluoma Chinenye John, a priest
of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja has reacted to a recent prophecy by the
Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Fr Ejike Mbaka tagging the
2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi a stingy man.
Mbaka had during an adoration program on Wednesday, declared
that Peter Obi cannot emerge as Nigeria President, saying he is too stingy and
would impose poverty on Nigerians.
The comment has continued to generate reactions from concerned
Nigerians, particularly the supporters of Obi who have taken to their social
media handles to lambast Mbaka.
The Catholic Diocese of Enugu also disowned Mbaka over the
inflammatory political utterances, urging the general public to hold him responsible
for his outings.
Reacting also, Fr Oluoma, in a Facebook post, argued that Mr
Obi may only be stingy to private ministries like Mbaka’s adoration ministry
but not public institutions like schools.
He wrote, “My positions on 2023 elections are: Na
presidential candidate wey no bribe delegates we go vote.
“Na candidate wey dey stingy to private ministries but
generous to public institutions like schools and hospitals we go vote”.
