Niger State Governor and Chairman of North Central States Governor’s Forum, Abubakar Sani Bello has called on Nigerians to pray for the peace and unity of the country.

The Governor stated this shortly after the Chief Imam of Minna Central Mosque, Mallam Ibrahim Isah Fari, led the two Rakat prayers for Eid-el Kabir at Minna eid prayer ground.

He urged Muslims to use this special day to pray for the country as it is faced with security challenges.

According to him,”It is a fact that we have been facing security challenges and while the security agencies are doing their best to curtail the situation, I think it is time for us to reflect on our various capacities and religions to pray for this country”.

Bello also explained that 2022 has been a difficult year in the area of security, however, he believes that with God’s intervention and the prayers of the people, Nigeria will be a safer and more united country.

He then congratulated Nigerians at large and Nigerlites in particular on the occasion of the Eid-El-Kabir Sallah and prayed for God’s blessings on everyone.

Also speaking, the former Governor of Niger State, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu urged Islamic clerics to preach on peaceful community life as the relationship between man to man is important.

Babangida Aliyu urged Muslim Ummah to imbibe the virtue of Sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim adding that it is necessary for communal living.

The Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Farouq Bahago; former Niger State deputy governor, Ambassador Ahmed Musa Ibeto; Secretary to the State Government(SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane; Chief of Staff Government House, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe; amongst other top government personalities attended the Eid prayer.
