Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of
the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted to those asking the Federal
Government to obey the Supreme Court judgment on the deadline extension of the
old naira notes.
Ejimakor said those asking the Federal Government to obey
the ruling of the Supreme Court should tell the government to release Kanu.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court temporarily stopped the
Federal Government from using the old naira notes from February 10, 2023.
DAILY POST had reported that a seven-member panel led by
Justice John Okoro, halted the Federal Government’s move through an exparte
application brought by three northern states of Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara.
Reacting to the ruling, some Nigerians urged the Federal
Government to obey the apex court.
In a tweet, Ejimakor wrote: “Those asking the Federal
government to obey the Supreme Court judgment extending the deadline on old
Naira notes should also ask the Federal government to comply with the
Court/Tribunal rulings that called for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. All
judgments are created equal.”
