Breaking News : Over 300 innocent people have been disappeared by the Nigerian military in Aba

6th June 2024

An investigative report obtained based on accounts and evidence from various individuals, friends, and relatives of victims of Nigerian military killings, abductions, and intimidation in Aba, Abia State by the Abia State Media team.

Reports obtained have proven that over 300 innocent people have become victims of Nigerian military atrocities right from 30th May 2024 until now, after the unfortunate incident that took the lives of soldiers in Obikabia Junction in Aba, Abia State.

Up to date, the Nigerian military have ruthlessly killed, harassed, and disappeared hundreds of innocent residents of Aba for no tangible reasons, especially when the Nigerian President, Ahmed Tinubu, who is a hater of Ndigbo, gave them a marching order to crush Biafrans.

Based on confirmed reports, analysis, and individual accounts, victims' friends and relatives' testimonies so far, we acknowledge that the Nigerian military have disappeared not less than 300 innocent people, especially youths. These individuals are either in their residence, workplace, walking on the road, on the street, or in hotels. The worst part is that the military will give their victims a near beating before taking them to an unknown destination where they'll illegally detain them and kill at will.

Friends and relatives have cried out over the killings and disappearances of their loved ones by the Nigerian military in Aba, Abia State since 30th May until this very moment.

On 5th May 2024, the Nigerian military invaded 3Star Hotel around Osisioma flyover and ransacked it, captured people in that hotel and took them away, including the owner of the hotel. Buildings around that area were ransacked too, and people there were abducted as well.

Our media were able to get accounts from many sources reporting from several sources about the abduction of their loved ones in places like Obikabia, Ukaegu Road, Osisioma, Ibenji, Cemetery, Uratta, PH Road, Number, Market Road, Ngwa, Cemetery, Ariaria, Osusu, Arongwa, etc.

This is worrisome and unacceptable. The unprofessional way and manner in which the military is killing and disappearing innocent youths in Aba must be condemned by everyone who respects human rights. The military released over 300 innocent people they abducted and should follow the due process of a professional investigation to unravel those behind the killing of soldiers and stop the illegal abduction of innocent youths in Aba.

As a matter of urgency, Abia State Governor Alex Oti should intervene by calling the military to order. Otherwise, the military and sponsors of insecurity in Igbo land are trying so hard to make Abia State ungovernable, just as Hope Uzodinma and associates have made Imo State a safe haven for insecurity, from which they benefit.
